Aims and scope
Agenda: Australian Public Finance welcomes submissions on public economics, with emphasis on public policy, including taxation, fiscal policy, social insurance, family economics, education, labour market policy, and political economy. The journal has a particular interest in issues relevant to Australia, but submissions do not need to have an Australian focus.
All research articles are peer reviewed. Articles are published open access under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, and authors retain copyright.

History
Agenda was founded in 1994 at the Australian National University, within what is now the ANU College of Business and Economics, as Agenda: A Journal of Policy Analysis and Reform, a forum for debate on public policy in Australia and New Zealand, dealing largely with economic issues. It was produced by ANU Press, which published 28 volumes through to Volume 28, Number 1 in 2021.
The journal now continues as Agenda: Australian Public Finance, with a sharper focus on rigorous public economics and the public policy it informs, under a new editorial team drawn from the Australian National University, the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne.
Continuity
Every article published between 1994 and 2021 remains open access at ANU Press, with its original DOI. Volumes 15 to 28 are listed on this site's archive page with links to each issue.
